Douglas Black is excited to join Astraea as the Vice President of Finance. Douglas comes with over 20 years of community based and International nonprofit leadership, particularly, internal controls, compliance and reporting.
Prior to Astraea, Douglas was the VP, Finance and Administration for Effie Worldwide, a nonprofit that specializes in marketing effectiveness. Previously, Douglas served as the CFO for IMA World Health, an international NGO that specializes in health and healing in vulnerable countries in Africa. During his tenure, Douglas was a strategic advisor to the CEO and was responsible for a complex mix of US and Non-US funding that led to significant growth and change for the organization. Prior to IMA World Health, Douglas served as the CFO for Easter Seals, DC VA MD, a nationally known nonprofit that serves adults and children with lifelong disabilities. Douglas was a strategic partner with the CEO that led the organization through a capital campaign, new program growth initiatives that served acute conditions for the disabled and military and veterans services.
Douglas holds a BSBA in Accounting and Management Information Systems from the University of Central Florida. When Douglas is not working, he enjoys theatre, racquetball, and volunteer activities.
